Becoming a Hughes Employee
Will I be an employee of the staffing agency or the company where I'm placed?
It depends on the type of placement. For temporary and temp-to-hire positions, you will be an employee of Hughes. For permanent placements, you would be employed directly by the company.
Will I receive benefits while working through Hughes?
Benefits can vary depending on the position and the length of the assignment. Your recruiter will go over job specifics such as pay and benefits as you explore the opportunities that are the right fit for you.
Why won’t Walmart cash my check?
Walmart uses an electronic approval system to verify checks based on the Social Security number you enter. The system determines whether your check can be cashed.
If your check is denied, it could be due to incorrect information or a history of issues with checks at Walmart. Unfortunately, Walmart cannot provide specific reasons for the denial.
If your check is denied, you have two options:
- Retry at Walmart: Call the phone number provided by Walmart for additional verification. This process might take a few business days.
- Try a different financial institution: You can cash your check at State Bank, as our checks are drawn from State Bank. Note: they may charge a fee for check cashing if you do not have an account there.
How do I get paid?
All employees are paid via direct deposit. At Hughes, we pay weekly on Fridays, unless otherwise notified. You’ll receive your first paycheck the Friday after your first full week of work.
What should I do if I'm not happy with a job assignment?
If you encounter any issues or are not satisfied with an assignment, contact your recruiter immediately. They can help address your concerns or find a more suitable position for you.
